Q. What the heck is an "F.A.Q."?
A. Good question. The term F.A.Q. is used as an acronym for "Frequently Asked Questions". This list is a bunch of questions presented to us by clients, and questions that we'd want answered if we were looking for a prospective company to service our online presence.

Q. How did your company come up with the name "diegotek web solutions"?

A. It was a very democratic process. We put our creative minds to work, trying to find a suitable company name that would easily transfer itself to a web site address. After a lot of good ideas, we selected a list of available Internet addresses, and had family members and friends pick from there. We believe "diegotek" can be attributed to both "America's Finest City - San Diego" and the technical nature of our business.

Q. How long has diegotek web solutions been setting up an online presence for companies?

A.Boy, got us there. We are brand new, having started the company in 1998. However, don't let our 'off the showroom floor shine' scare you away. All of the members of this team have been involved in computers and the Internet at one level or another for many years. While the company may be new, we let our results speak for itself.
Q. How do you base your fees?
A. We offer several highly competitive web site design packages that most clients will fit into. We also offer an hourly rate for our web design services and 'a la carte' pricing per service (such as image scanning, etc.). Our hosting service is provided at a flat monthly rate. Q.Are there any surprises at the end?
A.No, not at all. We will provide you with a written estimate before any work is done. This estimate will stand provided that no additional services or major changes are requested along the way. What you signed up to have done is exactly what you pay for at the end.
Q. Why do you request money upfront?
A. After both parties have agreed to the work to be done and the estimate is in writing, we do require that a 20% deposit be put down before work begins, with the remaining balance to be paid at the time of completion. Sadly, this necessary safety precaution is to ensure that our clients really want the work to be done.
Q.  Do you have a warranty or guarantee for your services?
A.Yes, there is a 15 day money back guarantee for work performed. The only fee that this does not apply to is the initial 20% deposit. That deposit is not refundable after work begins.
Q. Does diegotek web solutions meet or beat competing companies offering the same services?
A.Of course we do! We will make every effort to meet or beat other offers because we want your business. If you already have an estimate for your web page please present it to us and we'll see what we can do.
Q. What's the usual time frame for completion of a project?
A.Once a project concept has been agreed upon and the initial 20% deposit has been received, most projects can be done within 1-5 days. That estimate would be longer for more complex or large tasks. The bottom line is that we want your site to up and running ASAP, and we will make every effort to ensure that happens.
Q. Do you offer online sign-ups for your services?
A. Not at this time. Setting up such a system does require a considerable amount of time - time that we'd rather devote to designing quality web pages for other clients. To be honest, we really haven't needed it. Simple email is more than sufficient.
Q. Do you host Cold Fusion or Active Server Pages?
A. No, we don't. Both of those products are specific to the Windows NT hosting environment. Because we host using Unix, we are unable to host these types of pages at this time. We do host PHP, CGI scripting and FrontPage however.
Q. What Operating System does the hosting network reside on?
A. The host network is on FreeBSD, utilizing Apache web hosting software. This means that we have all of the capabilities (and limitations) of Unix. Our thought is stability first, whiz-bangs second. All of the web site enhancements in the world won't do any good if the site is not available because of server problems.
Q. What's the best way to contact your company?
A. In keeping with our philosophy that the Internet can drive business, the best way to reach us is via email to solutions@diegotek.com or filling out the form on our Contact Us page. Either of these are almost guaranteed to get you a near instant response. Admitedly, phone calls to our voice mail will get responses, but not as quickly. We live on the web.
